So I've decided to give you all a little trip into my mind... and specifically the part of my mind that views and comprehends television. Each show will be rated on a scale from 1 to 5 in the following categories: humor, plot, characters, emotion and believability, and A.W.T.D.T.A.O.T.S.W.A.B.I.T.W.T.S. (a word to describe the amount of time someone will actually be inclined to watch that show.) These are all based off of my personal opinion... so sorry if my beliefs contradict yours.
1. That 70s Show:
Been around since the late 90s up until the early '00s.. Known for it's theme song and the catchy line, "HELLO WISCONSIN!!!" as well as its many sexual undertones and drug and smoking references.
HUMOR: 5
PLOT: 4
CHARACTERS: 5
EMOTION AND BELIEVABILITY: 3
A.W.T.D.T.A.O.T.S.W.A.B.I.T.W.T.S.: 3- (I love the first couple of seasons but once Donna and Eric get engaged I don't really like the show.)
2. Good Luck Charlie:
A newer Disney Channel show... viewer age demographic probably ranges from 7-12.... oh whatever. Has a very cute baby as a "lead" (Charlie) and a bunch of other mediocre actors portraying a typical American family.
HUMOR: 4
PLOT: 2
CHARACTERS: 2
EMOTION AND BELIEVABILITY: 1
A.W.T.D.T.A.O.T.S.W.A.B.I.T.W.T.S. 5. (Even though my personal ratings were poor, this show makes me happy and I always get excited when I watch one I haven't seen before.)
3. The Simpsons
Been around forever. Seriously... I feel like I heard once that they have like over 500 episodes? Hold on I just checked on google.. as of 2011, they've had 22 season and 476 episodes. Talk about longevity!
HUMOR: 4
PLOT: 3
CHARACTERS: 5
EMOTIONS AND BELIEVABILITY: 1
A.W.T.D.T.A.O.T.S.W.A.B.I.T.W.T.S.: 3. (I'll watch it when it's convenient but I don't go out of my way to seek out new episodes... especially the new ones, because by the 476th one they get a little dry.)
4. The Secret Life of the American Teenager
A break out series hit on ABC a few years ago, intensely dramatic story of a girl who gets pregnant at band camp. And then everyone starts hooking up and getting pregnant or dying. You know, just like every other American teenager.
HUMOR: 2
PLOT: 3 (Gets a little crazy as it goes on.)
CHARACTERS: 3
EMOTIONS AND BELIEVABILITY: 5/3 (5 for emotions, 3 for believability)
A.W.T.D.T.A.O.T.S.W.A.B.I.T.W.T.S: 2. (I got pretty into it for the first season and then it got ridiculous- hence the 3 for believability- and I lost interest.)
5. The Glee Project
My newest T.V. interest! I don't actually watch just "Glee", but instead I watch the project, which basically is a talent competition based on dancing, singing, acting (and the attitude) of a bunch of teens contending for a spot on a season of Glee. Intense.
HUMOR: 2
PLOT: 5
CHARACTERS: 5
EMOTIONS AND BELIEVABILITY: 5
A.W.T.D.T.A.O.T.S.W.A.B.I.T.W.T.S: 5. (I've never "followed" a T.V. show before this. My life has been changed.)
Well, there you have it. All of these shows I am or have been interested in at one time (and have taken the time to actually watch for more than just one episode.) I hope this wasn't a complete waste of time for you. Now go watch some T.V.
Allison (Y).
